One-Tap Controls

All shades in the home are motorized. Open the iPad kiosk on any floor (or scan the QR for the phone app) and tap to control them by room or all at once.

  • Open All Shades
    Tap Shades → Open All
    Opens every shade in the house for maximum natural light
  • Close All Shades
    Tap Shades → Close All
    Closes every shade for privacy or to block light
  • Movie Night
    Tap Movie Night
    Theater and living room shades close automatically as part of the movie night scene
  • Good Morning
    Tap Good Morning
    Shades open gradually on the main floor to let in morning light
  • Control shades by room: tap the Bedroom tile, then Shades, then Close
  • Shades can be set to a percentage: drag the slider after tapping the room
  • Each shade also has a manual button on the side rail if you prefer hands-on control
  • No apps to download, no accounts, no always-on microphones. The system is local-only

Room-by-Room Guide

Motorized shades cover the windows where you'll most want them. Here is what is in each area:

  • Living Room
    Floor-to-ceiling shades on the main wall. Soften the afternoon sun or close them up for movie nights.
  • Theater / Basement
    Shades drop as part of the movie night scene to dim the room.
  • Office / Fourth Floor
    Shades reduce glare on screens while keeping natural light from the balcony.

Troubleshooting

  • Shade jogs but won't run a full cycle
    Hold the small motor button at the top of the shade tube (or on the wall remote) for about 5 seconds until it jogs again. Clears most glitches.
  • Shade is silent and won't move
    If you cycled it many times in a row, the motor may have overheated. Wait 20 minutes and try again. If still silent, text me.
  • Shade stops part way
    A limit got bumped, usually because someone grabbed the shade by hand. The motor needs its limits reset, which is on me — just text me and I'll handle it remotely.
  • Auto-open at sunrise is waking us up
    From the iPad, tap the bedroom and look for a Schedule or Auto toggle for that room — turn it off for the duration of your stay. If you can't find it, text me and I'll disable it.
