Scenes

Pre-programmed lighting scenes designed for every mood and moment. Open the iPad kiosk on any floor (or scan the QR for the phone app) and tap a scene. The whole house responds.

  • Good Morning
    Tap Good Morning
Warm kitchen lights gradually brighten for a gentle start to your day
  • Movie Night
    Tap Movie Night
Theater dims automatically, dining room goes soft, living room fades to black
  • Rooftop
    Tap Rooftop
Outdoor ambiance lighting creates a perfect evening atmosphere for entertaining
  • Trust the preset scenes, they're calibrated for the home's design
  • Scenes take 2–3 seconds to fully activate across all rooms
  • You can fine-tune individual rooms after a scene runs by tapping the room tile
  • Everything is local. No accounts, no apps to download, no always-on microphones

Common Issues

  • Scene fires but one room stays the same: that fixture might be offline. Tap the room tile on the iPad — if it's greyed out, flip the wall switch off 1 second / on 1 second to wake it
  • RGB bulb stuck on a weird color: tap the room scene on the iPad to force a known state, or cycle the wall switch off/on for a second
  • Don't leave a smart-bulb wall switch off overnight — the bulb can't be controlled from the app until the wall switch is back on

Manual Control

Wall switches work just like home. All smart switches are fully manual, use them exactly as you would traditional switches.

Press switch up = lights on | Press switch down = lights off

Dimmer switches in main areas let you control brightness by holding the switch up or down.

  • Dimmers want a press-and-hold (a half-second or so), not a tap. Watch the LED on the side and you'll see it slide
  • Some bulbs are non-dimmable by design — if a fixture only goes on/off, it's the bulb, not the switch
  • Wall switches and the iPad work together. Whichever you touched last wins

Common Issues

  • Switch is dead, app shows offline: pull the small tab below the off button (the air-gap tab), wait 10 seconds, push back in
  • Lights flicker or buzz at low brightness: that's a bulb-dimmer mismatch. Stay above ~30% brightness or text me to adjust the low-end trim on that dimmer
  • Switch tap doesn't dim, just turns on/off: hold the top or bottom of the paddle instead of tapping

Bedroom Lighting

Each bedroom has its own tile in the app. Tap the room, then Lights, to turn them off or dim them. Bedside dimmers handle the same job from under the covers.

Tap Master Bedroom → Lights → Off

For finer control, slide the brightness bar after tapping the room. The phone app on your nightstand works just as well as the kiosk.

  • Use the bedside dimmer to wind down without picking up your phone
  • Pull up the phone app and tap once from bed if you don't want to get up
  • Gradual dimming helps signal your body it's time to rest
  • Wall switches still work when the network is down

Common Issues

  • Can't find the right room tile: each bedroom is labeled by name (Master Bedroom, Guest Bedroom)
  • Dimmer unresponsive: toggle the wall switch off/on to reset
  • Lights turn on when you don't want them: check that no motion sensors are active
